Sylvie Leotin, CEO
Sylvie Leotin is the Founder and CEO of Equify Health. A Black cancer survivor, entrepreneur, and multipotentialite, she is on a mission to make healthcare equitable for all.
Sylvie’s unconventional career path crosses industries, disciplines, continents, and cultures. She started her career as a professional ballerina, earning a gold medal from France’s prestigious National Academy of Dance and Music, later becoming a computer scientist, and moving to Silicon Valley to research at Stanford Robotics Laboratory. Throughout her 25-year career, Sylvie has held an astonishingly broad range of roles in engineering, product management, marketing, market research, leadership, and innovation. Before founding Equify Health, she was the founder and CEO of Tech Atelier, a strategy consultancy advising startups on their product, fundraising, and marketing strategy. She served as interim VP of Marketing for several startups companies and has worked with technology giants, including NASA, Oracle, and Sun Microsystems.
An influential blogger, contributor to media, academic, and literary publications, Sylvie has a gift for articulating the unmet needs of patients and underserved populations. Feeling deeply distraught by the disproportionate mortality of Blacks to cancer and COVID, she decided to apply her skills and creative ingenuity to develop solutions to this vexing problem.
Sylvie holds an MS in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford University and an MS in Computer Science from INSIEE. She studied math and physics undergraduate. Sylvie served on the board of the Museum of Performance and Design and the Stanford Cancer Center Patient & Family Advisory Council.
